David is coming home...

David is coming home.

I have tried to find a more gentle, sensitive way to share the latest in David’s fight with cancer, but the reality is that David is coming home tomorrow to begin hospice, surrounded by the love of his friends and family.

This last year has been unimaginable for us, and yet we are forever grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support you have shown. David has fought an incredible fight, and throughout it all maintained a determined, positive attitude that has inspired us all. By coming home, David is in no way giving up his hope for a miracle, rather he is choosing to spend this miracle of time with Izzy and Cap.

I can already hear Teamboyd’s calls to help, and I want to thank you in advance. We are not sure what these next few days and weeks will hold for us, but we know we’ll need your love and prayers.

We will be checking email and David’s facebook postings, but I will probably not be able to respond at this time. I have pulled in a few teamboyd members to help and ask that you email them if you need something. Truly your love overflows...

Monica Huff is organizing visitors. There may be days when David is up to seeing people and there will be others when we want to circle up as just a family. Know that we can feel your love even if we are not able to accept visitors. Please contact Monica (monicahuff@bellsouth.net) first if you are interested in stopping by and she can tell you when is a good time.

We are so grateful for the amazing food you have prepared for us this last year and will be using the same website again to coordinate meals. If you are interested, please log on to http://www.foodtidings.com/SignUp.aspx?ScheduleGuid=c7d9f36a-ce5a-4b69-a608-ddffeb07bc27 or contact Megan Lewis (megolewis@yahoo.com) to sign up.

For all other questions, please send Kim Ness an email (kimjness@yahoo.com). She will try to keep people updated through our teamboyd website and emails.

I know these next few days, weeks, will be some of the hardest we’ve ever faced, but as with this entire battle, we are taking it one step at a time. My parents, Kerry and David’s family are all here. Cap is feeling healthy and joyful as always. Izzy is remarkably brave and resilient. I am holding on...and will cherish every last minute I have with David.

Please continue to lift us up in your prayers.

Lisa

God bless you, Lisa and David and kids, parents, and all your family! The rest I hear in your precious message to friends and family is so touching, and I just marvel at our God in times like these. We certainly have not given up on the miracle... and either way it goes...whether David rises up in this earth before our eyes...or whether he goes on before us...leading the way for all his family and his friends...God is pleased! Well done thy Good and Faithful Servant is the Words he'll hear...here or there...it's just a night's sleep for we who believe...waking up here or there...for any of us is God's will..when we lean on Him...trusting Him...persuaded that He is able to guard and keep all that we have committed to Him. Enjoy this time, Lisa...I pray that you are able to rise above and just sit in the heavenly places as you experience all that God has in store for you...and your family. I have known you only through my nieces and their friends..all part of this fantastic team! But, I have know you in the Spirit...as I've lifted you up...over and over. To God be the Glory that you are His and David is His! That's the biggest miracle of all! We thank God in advance for all who have come and are still coming just because David Boyd...and his precious Lisa...touched their lives. As a Mom...of a son or sons..I have 3..who are about your age...my heart is heavy for David's Mom and yours...but I know that I know that I know ... God is good all the time!!! and Psalm 91 is true...even when I can't see it! I must walk by Faith and not sight...in order to make it...to endure to the end. Love you, girl!!! Love that Beka shared this with me this morning...in tears, I salute you!!! You are blessed!!! If you need prayer about anything...let me know...Womenwho Pray on fb or womenwhopray@earthlink.net..or let Beka or Mary know. I'm honored to be here for you. Love you much!

David,

You continue to be such an inspiration to so many of us who say we have faith, but may not always live it when times get tough. You have lived your faith through all of this and allowed each of us to be witness to that. It has been a gift, and I have no doubt that you have led others to Christ through watching your spirit and faithfulness to Him. As believers, we all know that our time here is so brief compared to the eternity we will spend with God. Whatever happens, we can all feel your peace and faith in the Lord.

To Lisa,

Although we have never met, I admire your grace under this unbelievable pressure. Dealing with David's illness plus the scary moments with your son would put the best of us down, but you have shown that you have a remarkable foundation in God. I will continue to pray for you as you make your way through the days and weeks ahead.

God Bless,

Charity Cason

Praying for you Lisa.
My husband Stuart had cancer three years ago. Our friend rebekah Vespraskas told us about David several months ago and stu went and saw him in the hospital. We have been praying for your family since we found out.
So broken hearted to hear the news today.
Your strength is supernatural.
May the peace and comfort of Christ keep you and your children.
May He sustain you In every way.
Will continue lifting your family up in prayer.
